YOU MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A MONETARY AWARD IF YOU WORKED AT NATIONAL RAISIN BETWEEN OCTOBER 2015 AND MARCH 12, 2024.
On March 12, 2024, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California approved the settlement of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”)’s claims against Sunshine Raisin Corporation, doing business as National Raisin (“National Raisin”). The EEOC’s lawsuit also includes claims against Select Staffing, which have not been resolved yet. In the EEOC’s lawsuit, the EEOC alleged that Defendants violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Title I of the Civil Rights Act of 1991 (“Title VII”) by subjecting female employees working at National Raisin to unlawful sexual harassment, retaliation and constructive discharge between October 2015 and the present.
The settlement, called a “Consent Decree,” provides for a total of $2,000,000 in monetary payments to a class of eligible female workers who were adversely affected by sexual harassment and/or retaliation. Individuals who identify as female and who worked at National Raisin during the Claims Period from October 2015 through March 12, 2024, may be eligible to receive a monetary award under the Consent Decree. Persons identified as claimants may also be eligible for rehiring by National Raisin.
You have been identified by Defendants as an individual who worked for National Raisin during the Claims Period. Accordingly, you may be eligible to participate in the claims process and may be entitled to receive a monetary award under the Consent Decree.
